Ian d’Young is the Haemophilia Physiotherapy Practitioner for the Auckland region and National Clinical Lead for Haemophilia Physiotherapy in New Zealand. Formerly the Haemophilia Clinical Specialist at St Thomas’ Hospital in London, he is currently co-chair of the Australasian Haemophilia Physiotherapy Group and co-Vice President of Physiotherapy New Zealand. Ian returned to New Zealand from the UK in 2009 and has led the pilot and roll-out of dedicated specialist physiotherapy services for haemophilia in New Zealand. Ian was the recipient of the 2012 Healthcare Excellence Award for this project. He lectures in his field around the world and is the author of numerous books, multimedia and articles relating to the management of haemophilia.
